CHINESE TEAM DAILY TRAINING SCHEDULE

In the
latest Table-Tennis World, there is a report of what went on in the training camp as the
Chinese prepared for the Worlds. Here is a translation of the daily schedule. It was
reported elsewhere that there typically is a half-day off every week during the training
period. But the players are usually so tired that very few would go outside of the
dormitory.

Women's team assembled in front of main entrance.
Roll-call, then breakfast in cafeteria. |

Men's team assembled in front of building. Roll-call,

Men's and women's teams assembled in main gymnasium.
Address by coach Cai, flag ceremony, and playing of national anthem. |

Men and women separately met with coaches to receive
individual morning practice schedules. Training starts with 1.5 hrs of singles, 1 hr of
doubles and competition, then finally physical training. |

The 4 men's doubles teams play a tournament, with the
other players cheering on to simulate crowd noise. Women start doubles training. |
